This is going to be a fun one, mostly because I searched for information on the online and could find very little if anything useful. So, here's the story.
doTERRA has an essential oil blend called Slim and Sassy that's supposed to help with weight loss. There are all sorts of testimonials out there, but it's so hard to tell if it's really the S&S helping or if it's the other stuff. This particular one has all the potential for a placebo effect -- "I put some S&S in my drink and then I'm not as hungry, so I eat less, so I lose weight!" "I use S&S and then I exercise and I lose more weight than normal!" "I used the S&S shakes that only have 125 calories in place of my usual 750 calorie lunch, and I lost weight!" Okay, none of those are real quotes, but they're close enough.
Long story short, we got the Slim and Sassy New You Kit (two containers of the protein shake mix, four 15ml Slim and Sassy bottles, and a Lifelong Vitality Pack for good measure). I'm not really using most of the stuff -- I'll leave that for my awesome wife, who wanted to try out the product and see if it would help her -- but the oils are there and we now have four bottles, so why not try a little? And one of the ideas I've heard mentioned on the daily mentor calls is doing a Slim and Sassy Body Wrap party. Sure, that's more of a girly thing, but my spare tire seems to have gone from something for a passenger car to a large tire suitable for a Mac Truck.
Idea firmly planted in my mind, I set out to find some instructions. Guess what? No one is posting anything! So I'm going to be first with my totally made up recipe! Well, maybe it's not completely made up, but this is what a friend said she wanted to try, and so I just went with it.
1) Combine 10 drops Slim and Sassy oil with 1 teaspoon high quality oil (e.g. fractionated coconut oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, etc.) -- I used extra virgin olive oil, because we had plenty of it and it's cheap! (What do you call a one ton canary? CHEEEEEAP!)
2) Rub the mixture around the cellulite infested area(s) you want to address -- thighs, stomach, arms are all possibilities, but I decided to go for the abdomen, love handles, and lower back.
3) Wrap area with three or four layers of plastic wrap/Saran wrap, then put your shirt back on. (You'll want to do this without members of the opposite sex around -- unless it's your wife/husband.)
4) Wait. Some say one hour, some two, some say do it overnight! I chose to go with the two hour regimen.
I took measurements before I put on the wrap: 42" around the biggest area of my stomach/back. I also snapped a few photos showing my totally manly back, before and after applying the wrap. If you have a weak stomach, you might want to avert your eyes -- too late! ;-) But it's nothing you won't see at a swimming pool or beach.
